2023 Midlands District All Junior Selections

This competition is held to select swimmers to compete for the Midlands District at the Semi-Finals of the Country All Junior competition to be held at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre on Saturday 18th March 2023 (MSAC Semi-Finals date TBC).
Registered swimmers from clubs not belonging to Midlands District 16 may enter, but are not eligible for selection to compete for District clubs on Saturday 18th March at MSAC.
Individual medal winners in events from the 2023 Victorian Sprint Championships, 2023 Victorian Country LC Championships, 2023 Victorian Open Championships or 2023 Victorian Age Championships may enter, but are NOT eligible for selection to compete in the Semi-Finals for that STROKE in which the medal was won (regardless of distance).
Swimmers should inform the Midlands District Entries Officer if they are not intending to compete in the semi-finals at MSAC in March.
The fastest eight (8) eligible swimmers in each event, for each age group from 8 & under to 16 years will be invited to compete at MSAC – numbers subject to confirmation by Swimming Victoria.
Age as at date of Semi-Finals at MSAC (NOT age at date of MDASA Selection Trials).
The ‘One Start’ Rule will apply.
All events are 50 metres.
Swimmers do not have to be registered with a club to compete in the All Junior Meets.
Disqualification ruling – if a swimmer if disqualified in an event at the MDASA All Junior Selection meet, they are ineligible to be selected for that event (as per SV rules).
The 11/under swimsuit rule applies at this event.
Nominees agree to adhere to current Victorian Covid Rules and Restrictions, in addition to the Covid-19 terms and conditions listed in the Meet documentation on Swim Central. Swimmers, spectators and officials must read this prior to entering the Meet.
DO NOT attend if you are unwell.

Swimmers registered with Swimming Victoria must submit entries online via Swim Central

Exemptions eg. swimmer away on compulsory school camp
To receive an exemption:
1.) Swimmer must have entered and paid for the event.
2.) A letter is required including evidence/notice of camp from the school.
3.) Times to be considered must be the best Long Course 50m time, from within the last 12 months for the relevant stroke(s) (Times can be obtained from Swim Central or Results Central)
Any exemptions sought outside the criteria will be assessed on their individual merit by the Midlands Executive.
