MDASA Awards
General Information
Nomination for all Swimmer Awards is no longer required. All Awards will be determined using the Award Criteria and Swimmer Results from the Swimming Australia Results database. Clubs should still submit nominations for the Ballarat Masters Administration Award.
To be eligible for any MDASA Award a swimmer MUST compete at the MDASA Championship Meet in at least two individual events. An exemption can be requested if attendance at a National level swimming event means that a swimmer is unable to compete at the MDASA Championship Meet.
MDASA Championship Meet: Swimmers must have been registered with Swimming Victoria and a Midlands Affiliated Club for at least 6 weeks prior to the championships to be eligible to compete.
The MDASA Trophy Selection Sub-committee consists of: MDASA Records Officer, MDASA Championship Officer, MDASA Trophy Officer, MDASA President (Optional) and Secretary.
JW Clegg Shield awarded by special committee separate to MDASA.
Where standard time comparisons are used for an Award, the standard times used by MDASA are standard times that have been calculated from graphs of Australian and State records for that age group. The swimmer’s best time swum is compared with the appropriate standard time, and a percentage is calculated. Download standard times.
School Meet times swum at National School Meets or SSV (MSAC) run under Swimming Australia Limited rules as qualifying meets will be recognised for MDASA Awards and Records (Excludes Clegg and Dixon Awards).
RECORDS: Records are now determined automatically from the Swimming Australia Results database. Swimmers must have been registered with Swimming Victoria and a Midlands Affiliated Club for at least 6 weeks prior to the record swim to be eligible for a Midlands District Record.
