Ballarat Swimming Club
The Ballarat Swimming Club was formed in 2005, having begun life at the Ballarat YMCA Swimming Club in 1969. Mick O’Neill was its first President and Coach. The club moved from the old YMCA building in Camp Street to its current home at the Ballarat Aquatic Centre in Wendouree in 1996.
At Ballarat Swimming Club, we want all of our swimmers to develop a love of sport and fitness. Each swimmer is encouraged to set personal goals and is supported to achieve them. We are proud of the achievements of our swimmers who have progressed to State and National level. Equally, we recognise and are proud of every swimmer’s progress and achievements.

Ballarat Gold Swimming Club
Ballarat Gold Swimming Club is the youngest of the Midlands District swimming clubs, established in 1998. Slowly but surely Gold has developed into a strong club.
Ballarat Gold use the Ballarat Grammar School, Ballarat & Clarendon College 25 metre indoor swimming pools in addition to the Ballarat Aquatic & Lifestyle Centre 50m pool. The club holds regular morning and afternoon training sessions available to a diverse range of swimmers, many of whom have come through to be club members from the club’s connection with the head coach’s own swim school.
Gold’s philosophy is to provide an environment that suits swimmers who wish to train for fitness, fun and/or competition. They provide a family friendly environment where everyone is easy to approach and willing to lend a hand.
